Fire Update
As most of you are aware, band classes are being held in the auditorium until the band room clean-up is complete (maybe as little as 1 month's time).
All uniforms have been sent to a cleaner in Greenwood who specializes in fire/smoke damage.
Music is also being sent to restoration specialists and instruments/supplies (tuners, etc.) are being sent in batches to specialists for cleaning.
Bill and Keith have a makeshift office in the scene shop area of the auditorium and are being set up with office supplies, computers, etc.
There is not really anything we can do to help at this point, but we will keep you posted as needs arise.
I spoke with Leroy Shirk - President of the Columbus East Band Boosters and he offered help with anything that we might need. I've also heard from several other East parents expressing their concern and willlingness to help. Many thanks to our sister band.
Thanks to all of our parents who have called to offer help and support.

Order Deadline
Confirmations with payments attached are due in the lockbox by 3:30 on Monday, January 11. Please use the entrance to the instrument room for access to the lockbox.
Cutoff Date
February 22 (February 20 for Kroger/Jay C) will be the last day for scrip discounts to be applied to this year's fees and/or trip account. Discounts will be applied first to your student's band fees before any excess is transferred to your trip account. Any balance remaining in your student's band fee accounts are due immediately thereafter.
What Next?
Although it may feel like we've reached the end of the "scrip season" the opposite is actually the case. Time is the most powerful tool in the scrip world and your first band fee installment for next year is 7 months away. If you aren't already in the program, now is a great time to get started. Over the past 2 years our parents have used the program to purchase nearly half a million dollars of goods and services and put over $20,000 into their students' accounts. What are you waiting for?
Senior Parents
Many of you have become scrip "professionals" over the last 2 years. You have figured out how to integrate the program into your daily financial routine and have earned the benefits for your student.
Please keep up the good work!
Although the discounts you earn will no longer benefit your child directly, you can help continue the tradition of educational excellence in the Columbus North Instrumental Music Department by donating your scrip discounts as you earn them. No parent group understands better than us the power of working together...imagine what a couple hundred alumni parents could do just by continuing to use their Kroger/Jay C cards.
Coupon Card Sales
Students have received Coupon Cards to help with their band fees. Each Card sells for $10. They receive $5 in their band account for each card sold. We have some students who make as much as $250- $300 if they work at it.
All money and cards should be turned in by December 22nd.
