The Garage Sale Fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, August 7th at Northside Middle School - bus circle (front entrance). This is another opportunity to raise money that is applied directly to your student's fees.
After Monday, July 26th, please ask your student for a letter from Gary Babb concerning the Garage Sale. Please let Gary Babb know if you plan to participate.
PLEASE SEE ATTACHED FLYER for more details. Questions? Please contact Gary Babb - (317) 364-1364.
Kiwanis Duck Adoptions
The Sound of North will have another Individual Account fundraising opportunity at the beginning of the school year. Duck Adoptions will be sold for $5 of which $4 is directly deposited to your childĄ¯s account. This is one of the highest returns of any fundraising opportunity we are able to offer. Don Novak will be sending an information letter closer to the time school starts. Duck adoption sales will run through early October. The duck draw takes place the weekend of Ethnic Expo. Look for more information coming soon!
Marching Performance Parent Preview and Pitch-In!
On Thursday, July 29th we will have a parent pitch-in at 5:30 followed by a performance preview at 7:30. Students are to wear their summer uniforms (white shorts, show shirts, as white as possible tennis shoes and white socks). The pitch-in will be in the Northside cafeteria following the performance preview. Hamburgers will be provided and grilled on site (Dads get your grilling gloves on!) Each family is asked to contribute the following by class:
8th graders/Freshman: sides
Sophomore: salads
Juniors: desserts
Seniors: desserts
Access to refrigeration will be limited. Please drop off donations between 4:45 - 5:00. Please do not wait until 5:30 to bring your donation. Contact Leigh Britt (376-7034/812-343-5221) or Kim Cox (812-350-0859) or Suzanne Diehn (812-374-9342) with questions regarding donations.
RAIN PLAN - TBD!! Keep your eye on the radar!
Scrip Scribble
July 26 will be the next due date for scrip orders. Since the band room will still be inaccessible, I will pickup the scrip from you at the end of the band camp day from 8:45 to 9:15pm. For those who I do not know me, I will be wearing a white Cummins baseball hat. I will try to be at the most obvious place for parent pickup, not sure if this is at the Schmitt field or Northside. I will strive to have the delivery at the Parent Preview on Thursday July 29 at 7:30pm. I'll send a confirmation email.
For your planning, in August, scrip orders will be August 9 and August 23. Once school starts, I believe the band room will be accessible again and we can resume using the Scrip Drop Box. Watch the newsletters for details. I will strive to have the scrip available on the following Thursday at the end of the full band practice at 8:30pm.
Contact Tim Diehn (timdiehn@yahoo.com or 375-9128) for further information.
Uniform Fittings!
We will be fitting uniforms during the minicamps in August. There are 2 dates, Saturday Aug. 14 and Saturday Aug. 21. We need to recruit as many fitters as possible for these 2 days. If you are available, the hours are 8-3, but we can split up times. Just send me an email if you're interested and what day/time you would be available, even if only for an hour or two. We normally use the week of band camp for fittings, but due to the construction, we do not have access to the uniforms until the week prior to school starting. We are cramming a weekĄ¯s worth of fitting into two Saturdays so HELP!! will be greatly appreciated.
At this time, I will also be taking volunteers for tacking (sewing a few stitches to secure hems) the pant legs and coat sleeves. This can go very quickly with alot of people helping. We will only have a few weeks between fittings and the first performance, so it is crucial that we have volunteers lined up for this. You can take the uniforms home with you so you may tack at your own leisure.
Thank you in advance for helping out with this important and rewarding task! Contact me at shanaschreiner@sbcglobal.net.
Invitational
Mark your calendars for September 11th, 2010! This fundraiser is the primary reason our fees are as reasonable as they are. Nearly $12,000 was raised last year and we hope for more this year! We cannot pull this off without the help of every family of every student. We need help with parking, concessions, food preparation for judges, runners, announcers, T-shirt sales, set-up and clean-up etc. during all hours of the day! Food donations that you could prepare in advance for the judges and bus drivers are also needed! Contact Kim Cox at 350-0859 or 342-7218 to find your best fit.
